The wild rivers of Kamchatka are virtually untouched reserves of pristine wildlife habitat.

WSR takes you to the majestic wild salmon rivers of Kamchatka. Hundreds of miles from a city and a lifetime away from civilization.
Wild Salmon Science & Conservation Fund

The Wild Salmon Science and Conservation Fund was established by Wild Salmon Rivers to support scientific, educational, and conservation efforts in coordination with our partners in Kamchatka.

In 2005 the Fund established the Sergey Lamzov Memorial Scholarship and Prizes awarded to Kamchatka high school and college students pursuing degrees in biology, ichthyology or conservation biology.

In 2004, the Fund initiated the Kamchatka Rainbow Trout Project to develop a profile of the age/size profile of rainbow trout populations in the Zhupanova river. Data collected by anglers will help determine angling exploitation rates, hooking and natural mortality, and abundance of rainbow trout.

In 2003 the Fund made a grant of $32,000 to the United Nations Foundation to leverage an additional $150,000 in grants for a one-year United Nations Development Program project to promote ecotourism in Kamchatka as a viable, sustainable development strategy.
